Ser is used to express origin. Yo soy de

Ser is used to indicate a distinguishing characteristic. Jaime es alto.

Estar is used to express a temporary condition.
Los refrescos están fríos.
Estar may also refer to where someone/something is located. ¿Dónde está ella?

When used with a noun, an
ordinal number must agree in number and gender with that noun.

Ordinals are placed before nouns.
2.
Primero and tercero drop the o before a masculine singular
noun.
EX: Enero es el primer mes del año. January
is the first month of the year.
