Stem Changing Verbs o→ue

Stem changing verbs are verbs that have a spelling change in the stem before the verb is conjugated. For o→ue stem changing verbs, the o of the stem changes to ue in all forms EXCEPT NOSOTROS(AS) AND VOSOTROS(AS)!

poder (ue) – to be able, can puedo, puedes, puede, podemos, pueden

ir + a + infinitive

Expresses what someone is going to do or what is going to happen!

It is a way to express the future!

You take your subject (Yo, tú, él, etc.), pick the correct present tense conjugated form of the verb “ir”, followed by “a”, and an infinitive.

The infinitive is the verb in its original form, the untouched verb. (estudiar – to study, hablar – to talk, bailar – to dance)

EX: Yo voy a estudiar. I’m going to study. Ella va a bailar – She is going to dance. Vamos a hablar. We’re going to talk.
